We get through this today.
This is video 2 part 2 about the Camp Chef flat-top grill.
I’m going to show you the right way to heat it up and the right way to clean and Reese’s in the baking tray when you’re done.
So here we go So here we are, we’ve got a griddle that’s been used and we’ve got quite a bit of leftover food and some heavy ones food particles I usually scrape a lot with my grill scraper then whisk it in a trash can and get as much as I can there and then just grab your grill scraper and work it around and you know you are getting the heavy deposits off make sure to use a food grade grill scraper and then take a paper towel and end with kind of just wiping it off All you can if you have a baking tray, you will have to go through a lot of paper towels So make sure you have a lot on hand So after that and remember the grills on low, take some warm water and Spray it on there and you will see the deposits start to rise right away In the boiling water there and just take your scraper and work it around and you might have some heavy deposits that you have to work and just keep working there and there there are some there and you can use a stainless steel chain mail.

If that helps you, you can also add some sea salt and work in the heavy deposits use while the grill is hot So I put a cloth that is saturated in hot water afterwards to take and i’ll just kind of add some more and then take your grill scraper and just work it over and this really makes a difference.
You can see it right away You can immediately see the deposits disappear with that wet towel While you go over it So just keep working on it and fold it over and you can add a little bit more water to it and moisten it And you will.
I’ll get to the point where you feel like you’ve done everything you could.
So turn off your grill and let it cool.
I use olive oil, you can use vegetable or rapeseed whatever you have, there is a cast iron conditioner they make and Chef Camp Chef also makes one conditioner.
I only use olive oil, I put on two strokes of olive oil and I take a separate cloth dedicated to oiling and oiling i will just work on it and remember the griddle is still quite hot, so you have to be careful and just work that oil into the metal like that and come around in the corners and get the fat through really well And then I also like it when you feel like you need a little bit more, just add a little bit more Not too much oil.
There is no need to over-oil it.
You know just enough to apply a light coating and then make sure to get the outside of the baking sheet as well this is a great rust inhibitor and it is important for your non-stick coating and spicing up your metal for your next cook and you can see the great finish after we clean and re-season it and now you can just let the baking tray cool down and you’re ready for it the next one.
Okay lighting instructions for the camp cook and this really applies to any griddle including the Blackstone as soon as you light your burners you want to bring them down to medium to medium-low if that Don’t ever want to set your griddle on high heat you run the risk of warping your griddle So you have to be very careful with that? after about five to ten minutes throttle back to low and then you get your Estimated temperature of 350 to 400 degrees on your griddle Make it make sure you never heat on high if you use a little more temperature you can always bring it up and if you use your griddle at colder temperatures, or if it’s a bit windy you should maybe raise your temperature closer to high if needed by following these procedures Takes you exactly where you need to be I’ll show you what a useful thing.
They did with this unit that they provided holes next to each button, so you can really get into it don’t know if I can sort it out enough if you look through the hole You can burn the burner the entire length of the burner View it here So with a quick look And you can see the blue flame and here is the last one So a great idea as you can see, you can’t really see them From here So you wouldn’t know if they are lit unless you have the little peephole.
So that’s a cool design.
